The Hippy Mafia in the UK
We are currently in Manchester preparing for our first UK tour supporting non other than Beady Eye. Good times and vibes thus far. The tunes are sounding mint and we're looking forward to starting things off with the band's official return to Manchester Thursday night at The Factory. We'll be in Blackpool the following night at The Empress Ballroom and Sheffield Saturday night at 02 Academy. Check other dates at www.thehippymafia.com
Big respect to the press around the UK and Europe that have been supporting the band like Rolling Stone Germany, who published this article in their November 2011 issue...

Peace, I'm not normally the type to blog about fashion, etc. but I realize it has always played a part in my artistic approach to life and I completely enjoy it. I've been asked as to why I don't post about it and decided I will start with a few recommendations as I delve into design a bit more. Starting here...
Last year I was introduced to bespoke by some DVYNEART clients who grew to be good friends. They warned that once you start you don't go back and I'm feeling them on that one. Custom design and tailoring is the way to go. In the spirit of such, I was able to secure the first custom beaded bracelet for a client by Esency, a clothing and accessories company that is based in Toronto. The results are below, a one off, my black bracelet with a single white bead representing the usage of light and shadow in my artwork. You'll definitely see me rockin' this and reppin local talent.
Peace to Sheldon and the crew for putting this together for me and Bruce down at Proper Reserve for the intro. Good looking out fellers. Toronto represent!
More big things in the art x fashion front to come soon.

NUIT BLANCHE 2011
DVYNEART @ The Parkdale Drink
It was my third year doing this event in Parkdale and I must say it was a good one. We stepped up the promotion, word of mouth and style in 2011. Big shout out to my DVYNEART team, GDSN Music and the staff at the 'Drink. The party went on until 4am and I was able to complete my latest piece, 'KING Sardata' before a live audience of music and art enthusiasts.
I did this commissioned portrait of DJ TABs and surprised him with it for his birthday. Dude spun like a champ as per usual!
My finished piece from nuit blanche, painted live...KING SARDATA
See images of the event and process of this piece below....

DVYNEART x CHIVO
I spent the last 4 days collaborating with an extremely talented local artist by the name of Danny Rosales aka 'Chivo' http://www.taggedart.com/
I was asked to art direct a commission for Eva's Initiative's, a group of youth shelters in Toronto. Chivo was a great fit to pull off the work. Assisting and collaborating with him was an incredible experience. I hope that the art goes on to inspire the youth that come across it.
The first piece was a scroll with positive affirmations that more of us should live by.
The second was a commission to paint a tree, in which we incorporated a portrait of the founder of the shelters, Eva Smith, a tireless advocate for at risk youth in North York who happened to pass away before seeing her dream of a safe place for them come into fruition.
Below are some photos of our collab on this project...
Day 1...I never knew writing in a straight line by brush could be so difficult!
